The Streaming Giant Chooses Spot-On Actor for Bentham in One Piece Upcoming Installment
The Secret Organization is set to play a huge role in the forthcoming season on Netflix of One Piece, although the real showdown won’t take place until the next season, and a cherished, audience-beloved member has recently been selected.
Netflix announced Tuesday that the skilled actor is now part of the One Piece upcoming season’s lineup and will portray Bon Clay. This character possesses the power to change into an identical duplicate of any person they’ve touched with their dominant hand. Escola, who is identifies as non-binary and prefers they/them pronouns, will play a interpretation of that role reinterpreted as non-binary, instead of as a drag artist, in the live-action series, differing from the initial comic and cartoon version.
Escola joins multiple new cast members set to bring the group to life, featuring leader Mr. 0, portrayed by Joe Manganiello, a talented actress as a key member, and an accomplished actor, who will appear as the cast as King Nefertari Cobra of the desert kingdom.
Though the role is a key figure of the organization, the character won’t make their debut One Piece season 3. Given the second season expected to adapt the Little Garden storyline, this signals a significant shift in the placement of their first appearance, one that could signal more adjustments to the story’s structure.
The actor’s combination of sharp comedic timing and emotional depth makes them a ideal selection for the role. Along with their recent voice performance in the youth-focused cartoon movie Boys Go to Jupiter, they received high praise and multiple awards for creating and performing in the popular theatrical show Oh Mary!, highlighting the versatility they’ll contribute to one of One Piece’s highly regarded roles.
The platform’s adapted One Piece program is scheduled to come back for its next installment on March 10th, 2026.
