Star Denies Anti-Vax Stance Following Voicing Contentious Pandemic Documentary
The acclaimed actor has lent his vocal talents to a feature-length documentary that questions the safety of vaccinations and commends ex- cabinet secretary the political figure.
The Documentary's Provocative Basis
Named "Plague of Corruption," the project is inspired by a bestselling book published by a controversial scientist, who rose to infamy during the pandemic for claims that the virus was caused by a faulty batch of the influenza shot.
Her collaborator, the executive producer, has penned books with conspiracy-prone radio host Alex Jones. Heckenlively wrote online praising Neeson's role in the project.
An Unequivocal Denial
Representatives for the actor have issued a statement pushing back against implications that he subscribes to anti-vaccine views.
"Everyone can understand that unethical practices might be present within the medical sector, but that must not be equated to rejection of vaccines," the statement reads. "Liam never has been, and is not, anti-vaccination. His extensive work with the UN children's agency highlights his long-held support for public-health initiatives."
It continued that the star did not shape the film's editorial content and that questions about its content should be directed to the creators.
Key Assertions Featured in the Feature
As presented, the script provided by Neeson features several strong claims:
- It claims that pro-immunization voices have demanded "complete compliance" to health authorities.
- It declares that "medical science has become dangerously influenced by politics."
- Robert F Kennedy Jr is featured stating, "The big problem with vaccines is that they are not safely tested."
- The film also criticizes stay-at-home orders, arguing they caused psychological harm that led to the loss of thousands of lives.
- Regarding Covid vaccines, it cites a perspective that they were "rushed to market" and seen as "hazardous tests."
Historical Controversy and Current Disputes
The documentary also references a past television report about HIV drug testing on children, which was later the subject of a correction by the network for violations of guidelines.
Last month, RFK Jr called on the Centers for Disease Control to revise its long-held position that there is no connection between vaccines and autism spectrum disorder. This supposed link is also referenced in the documentary, contrary to a recent study from the World Health Organisation confirming no connection has been found.
A Past Position of Advocacy
Standing in contrast to the film's tone, Neeson has previously expressed firm endorsement for vaccines in his position as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador.
Previously, he described vaccines as "an incredible human success story," adding that "The discourse about vaccines in the past few years has forgotten how much good they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest human endeavors in human history."
"Plague of Corruption" finishes with Neeson's narration stating, "This marks not the end of our journey. It is the beginning of a different phase."
