Football Expert Sutton Faces Off Against Singer Murs in Premier League Forecasts
Arsenal's 10-game victorious streak came to an end by the Black Cats before the international hiatus, but can the English top division leaders recover against north London rivals Spurs this weekend?
"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," remarked soccer specialist Chris Sutton.
"Frank will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still manage to win."
The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, against artificial intelligence, fans and a variety of special visitors.
For week 12, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.
The singer's latest album, the new release, is available on the weekend.
Football and Family Experiences
Murs is a skilled footballer as well as a successful singer and has been a star of multiple Soccer Aid matches down the years - but he is not planning a serious return as a footballer.
"{I recently played in a benefit game the other evening for a friend of mine," he said. "My side was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!
"I continue to love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it seriously again.
"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my daughter or son chooses to play instead."
The singer and his spouse his partner have a young family, their daughter and Albert, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their manager.
"I will not force football on our children but I've already told my wife that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be managing their Saturday soccer team," he said.
"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly owned a football club for a period too.
"My father did it with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I inherited it. He managed our team for two or three years and had great fun with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"
Premier League Predictions
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
Chelsea may have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's comeback from injury but their offense is now more potent with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.
I still think this fixture will be quite tight, however. The Clarets are well organised and their sole home defeats so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.
It suggests a one-all tie to me, but I am in fact going to go with Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.
Sutton's prediction: 1-2
Olly's pick: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3
Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Bournemouth have been defeated in their past two games - although both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which shocked me.
On the other hand, the Hammers secured back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at home, they do look strong again.
The Hammers' sole on the road victory this season came at Forest in the summer, when their boss Nuno was still Forest manager.
So, what exactly do I go with here - will it be the Hammers continuing their run under their manager, or the home side responding?
I will choose Bournemouth, because I believe what happened against Aston Villa was a blip.
Sutton's prediction: 2-0
The guest's outlook: Bournemouth are performing strongly but the visitors have improved under Nuno. 2-2
AI's pick: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Brentford were seen as one of the favourites for the drop before the campaign began, but they have surprised a several observers under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three wins in their past four matches.
A family member advised me to select Bees striker Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.
Thiago will probably score again on Saturday but I am still not going to select him or support the away side at Amex Stadium.
The Bees have not had much success on the road this season, and Brighton are consistently strong at home. Brentford will try to attack on the counter-attack but I think the home manager's side carry much more of a threat.
The analyst's forecast: 2-1
The singer's prediction: It could be a match where you expect there is going to be a lot of goals but it in reality proves to be quite tight. 1-1
AI's outcome: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
This is a huge fixture for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six games.
They have have lots of quality in their team but it still seems like they could be dragged into a drop zone fight.
Regarding the Black Cats, indeed they are the unexpected success of the top flight campaign so far.
The away side's display in the two-all tie with Arsenal last time out was superb. We've not witnessed anyone else rough up the Gunners like that this season, and they were more than a match for them.
The logical choice would be to support the Black Cats here, because they are obviously capable of disrupting the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they beat Chelsea at the close of October.
But I am not choose that. Instead, I really need to continue opposing the away team with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of credit for their positive results because they evidently love to defy my predictions.
Considering the home side's home record, the sole team they have lost to is the league leaders. Their manager's team will be absolutely desperate for a good outcome, so I am going to predict they will pick up three points.
The expert's prediction: 1-0
The guest's choice: I know the visitors are doing well and also that the hosts are on a poor streak... but they have nonetheless been respectable at home this campaign. 2-0
The algorithm's prediction: 2-0

It is a hard fixture to call. The Reds have suffered seven of their past 10 games in all competitions, but could they be among the teams who profit from the {international break|
