First Story: Star Talent Palmer Fit for High-Stakes Capital Derby with Arsenal

The Blues manager Enzo Maresca confirmed on Friday that Cole Palmer is available for selection for the squad's significant Premier League encounter against London rivals Arsenal.

The young England international was unavailable due to a broken toe suffered after an unfortunate incident.

“He is available to start and to play,” Maresca declared. “The whole team is delighted.”

This season, Palmer has made only four appearances in all tournaments, finding the net on two occasions.

Since his arrival from Manchester City in 2023, he has achieved 45 goals and 29 assists in 101 appearances for the London club.

“He is our top performer, we are pleased he is back, we need to give him time to be 100% fit,” Maresca added. “He has been brilliant historically and no doubt he is going to do exceptionally well for this club in the future.”

Everton were unsuccessful in their appeal against Idrissa Gueye's red card for a fight with teammate Michael Keane during the squad's narrow win at Manchester United.

The player promptly expressed regret, and the teammates appeared reconciled later in a mock social media post.

However, the challenge against the dismissal was denied, and Gueye must complete a three-game ban, making Everton depleted for their upcoming fixture against Newcastle United.

“We challenged the decision and it was rejected,” coach the manager said. “We received no rationale for the denial but we did appeal it.”

Inquired about more issues from the event, Moyes remarked: “It was over immediately, it was done, that was it, we progressed quite quickly and it was all sorted within the team environment.”

3. Yoane Wissa Trains with The Magpies for First Time since Injury

The Hammers manager Nuno Espírito Santo has insisted that Liverpool' recent poor form “should not be a focus” as his team prepares to take on the ailing Premier League title holders.

Nottingham Forest's boss Sean Dyche is optimistic that Morgan Gibbs-White will be fit for the side's home match against Brighton & Hove Albion on the weekend.

“It’s like a bad back, but a waking-up sort of injury, one where you just sleep funny or move improperly. So we’re not expecting, at this point anyway, that it’s very severe and it’s easing already. So we’re confident that it’ll be right for the weekend.”

The defender was feeling his hamstring after the 3-0 European victory, but Dyche said the player “is expected to be okay”.

Meanwhile, the full-back (thigh injury), the midfielder (thigh), Dilane Bakwa (hamstring), the striker (knee), and the defender (hip) are likely to miss out.

Sixth Story: Oliver Glasner: European Defeat Won't Hinder Palace

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner feels that the setback of Thursday's European loss to Strasbourg is a sign of how far the team has come in challenging on two fronts.
